Ms. Ford's area of practice includes preparing and prosecuting patent applications, trademarks, and copyrights in the United States and foreign countries. She has prosecuted mechanical patents including automotive component assemblies, secondary exhaust systems, exhaust and engine valves, turbochargers, solenoid valves, vehicle mirror assemblies, lighting devices, audio devices, compliance methods, manufacturing machines, die press assemblies, automotive storage compartments, automotive trim, ornamental designs, medical devices, ophthalmic devices, imaging and diagnostic assemblies, and automotive packaging.
She has also been involved in several patent prosecutions involving appeals and has performed various state-of-the-art investigations. Her experience further includes trial assistance in a successfully defended case involving copyright and Lanham Act claims.
Prior to joining Warn Partners, P.C., in 2006, Ms. Ford worked at Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI) as a Senior Material Handling Engineer where she was part of a core team that launched automotive interior components in the U.S. and abroad. During her last three years with JCI, she also attended law school in the evenings. Prior to JCI, Ms. Ford was a Project Manager at I*LOGIC supporting powertrain and automotive assembly plants.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Arts from Michigan State University, College of Engineering in 2000. She received her Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2007, where she graduated Cum Laude and received the Alumni Association's Distinguished Student Award for the graduating class.
Ms. Ford also served as a Cooley Student Ambassador, founding President of the Federalist Society, and founding Vice President of the International Law Society student chapters. She also organized student and faculty volunteers for Habitat for Humanity projects to foster positive relations between the local community and those entering the legal profession. Ms. Ford also received the WLAM Ford Motor Company Award, the GRAHEN Outstanding Adult Learner Award, and was nominated by Cooley Law School for the prestigious 2007 American IP Law Association Jan Jancin Award.
Ms. Ford is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys backpacking and camping with her family and American Bulldog.
